The City of Tampere is actively looking into better utilization and digitalization of built environment, in order to become a breeding ground for innovations. There is a huge potential to create a more sustainable city, a smarter maintenance management, a safer city environment, and ultimately to improve the lives of citizens. By taking advantage of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data, completely new, innovative services and solutions can be built on the existing city infrastructure.
